Arm Raises and Extensions
An interactive system that promotes upper-body exercises such as arm raises and arm extensions through target-based reaching tasks using NFC technology.
How it works
- The user holds one NFC tag in each hand.
- Four RFID readers are placed at different target positions.
- When a tag touches a reader, the system detects which hand activated which target.
- The system provides immediate visual (LCD display) and audio feedback for each successful touch.
User Feedback and System Improvement
Feedback
- The concept is strong and engaging
- The cables are too short, causing the readers to be placed too close together
- Sensitivity issue
Improvements Made (see NFC Game)
- Make it a game with UI
- Redesigned from handheld tags with fixed readers to handheld readers with fixed tags, expanding the interaction area and reducing cable limitations
