We are looking for people 18 or older who are inactive (but would like to change that) and who are interested in physical activity technologies to test our prototypes at home over 3 months.
Over the past two years, the Smart Cues team have developed a set of prototypes that support physical activity at home. You can read about our work here and here. It is now time to test our system.
The system supports short movements such as squats, balancing, and march steps in a playful way. It also tracks and logs daily exercise goals. Using the system should take about 10 minutes across a whole day.
What will happen during the study?
We will deliver the system to your home, explain how it works, and interview you briefly (10-20 minutes) to understand better how you may be using our prototypes. Then, we will ask you to use the system for 3 months as you see fit as part of your daily routine; you will receive a form to fill in every two weeks. At the end, we will interview you about your experience (30-60 minutes) and take the prototypes away. A month later we will contact you to conduct a follow-up interview (20-30 min).
At the end of the 3-month study period, you will receive a £50 Love2Shop voucher. An additional £15 Love2Shop voucher will be available as a thank you for the follow-up interview.
If you are interested, please fill in this form. If have any questions, please contact Dr Darren Scott at ScottD15@cardiff.ac.uk.
