Pose Challenge

A pose-based activity that guides users through structured body positions.
The system monitors posture and provides immediate audio feedback for each challenge.

How it works

  1. The user holds the device in hand while performing the activity. The screen displays a movement instruction such as “Front” or “Hand Up”.

  2. The IMU checks whether your posture matches the instruction. If correct, a cheerful sound plays and a new challenge appears. If incorrect, a lower sound is played and you are prompted to try again.
  3. The challenges include forward arm stretch, side stretch, hand up, hand down, and squat.

User Feedback and System Improvement

Feedback

  • Some poses were confusing
  • It appeared that the system was detecting device orientation rather than the actual body pose

Improvements Made (see Core Unit)

  • Integrated with additional sensors in a single device
  • Reframed from pose recognition to pose-holding balance detection

Features

Real-Time Pose Detection

Uses motion sensing to compare user posture with predefined patterns.

Immediate Audio Feedback

Different sounds signal success or the need to retry.
