Wall Sit v2

An upgraded wall sit monitoring system that combines height detection and wall contact sensing.
The system ensures that both squat depth and back contact are maintained before timing begins.

How it works

  1. Stand over the ultrasonic sensor placed on the floor and slowly lower yourself into a wall sit. When the system detects that you are below the required height and your back is in contact with the wall, the timer starts automatically.
  2. The LED display shows the holding duration. A short beep sounds every 5 seconds during the hold, and a melody plays every 30 seconds for encouragement.
  3. If you rise above the required height or lose contact with the wall, the timer stops immediately and the screen resets.

User Feedback and System Improvement

Feedback

  • Easy to use
  • The pressure sensor felt fragile
  • Sensor should be easy to be fitted and removed from the wall

Improvements Made (see Squat Module, Core Unit)

  • 3D printed case
  • Reframe as long squat for easier setup

Features

Dual-Sensor Verification

Combines an ultrasonic distance sensor and a wall-mounted pressure sensor to confirm both squat depth and wall contact.

Automatic Start and Stop Logic

Timing begins only when posture conditions are met and stops instantly when the position is broken.

Structured Audio Feedback

Provides periodic beeps for pacing and longer musical cues for motivation.

Clear Visual Timing Display

Displays holding duration in real time on the LED screen.
